Saturday, May 13, 2023, a date that will forever be a memory in the minds of students across the country. The much anticipated Scifest 2023, took place last weekend. The event was nothing short of fun. The thrills coupled with the knowledge shared indeed created a time to forever relish.
GHScientific announced the event and scheduled for it to take place from 9am to 4pm on the proposed date at the Museum of Science and Technology in Accra.
The aim of the event was to promote STEM education in a delightful atmosphere for children across all ages – and indeed this was a feat that was achieved.
Students from across the country trooped in to enjoy this experience. Some of the schools that represented included, Galaxy International school, Accra Girls’ senior high school and North Ridge Lyceum. Parents were not left out of this fun moment; as some came by with their wards to also catch a glimpse of the happenings of the day.
Activities during the Scifest
There were various activities that took place during the event. As some students toured the museum to discover knowledge on some science arts, others were busily engaged in experimental sessions; with a few others occupied by speakers during a career talk session.
Parents were “wowed” by the scenes their wards were exposed to; and expressed this through their positive feedback after the event.
SciFest was organized in partnership with the Museum of Science and Technology and DEXT Technologies, with support from the International Brain Research Organisation, the Dana Foundation, Ghana STEM Network, Ghana Science Association, and Ghana Young Academy.
Scifest 2024, looks to be much bigger and better. Anticipate!
