Thrilling, exciting, heartbreaks – a spectrum of emotions were evident at the just ended Sharks competition finale. This year’s finale featured two outstanding schools – Presbyterian Boys’ Senior High school and St. Peter’s Senior High School. The two schools after sterling performances in the preceding contests, squared off for the ultimate prize – a whooping amount of Ghc20,000.
The competition started off as a promising one from the boys from Akwatia (St. Peter’s Boys Senior High School). They led in the opening round which featured social literacy questions with a 40 gap difference between them and their opponent.
The tables however turned in the next round of the competition (Literacy and Numeracy) as the boys from Presec managed to emerge ahead.
After a brilliant display of academic prowess from both schools, the tides however didn’t seem to go the way of the blue magicians (Presbyterian boys’ Senior High School) as they were edged out by their opponent school.
The two time champions were withheld from making their win a third one, and for the first time, St. Peter’s Senior High School were crowned champions of the 2022 Sharks competition.
Nonetheless both schools offered nothing but the best, and this event was quite a scene to behold.
Kudos to St. Peter’s on achieving this feat, and better luck to the Presbyterian Boys.
The occasion was graced by honourable men and women in academia. Amongst these dignitaries was Emerita Professor Elizabeth Ardayfio-Schandorf, who is distinguished as the first woman Emerita Professor in Ghana.
