Academic City Technology and Entrepreneurship Centre (TEC) is thrilled to announce an inaugural lecture session on the theme “Space Science & Engineering And Global Navigation Satellite Systems”
For this first part we have Prof. Wayne Scales, a J. Byron Maupin Professor of Engineering from Virginia Tech, USA. He is the founding Director of the Center for Space Science and Engineering Research (Space@VT), and is also an affiliate Professor in the Kevin T. Crofton Department of Aerospace and Ocean Engineering where he serves as Associate Vice Provost for Research and Diversity.
For his lecture, Prof Scales will provide an overview of Virginia Tech’s research and educational programs in space science and engineering. He will cover a variety of research topics including satellite missions and the impact of space weather on Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), some of which have been installed in Nigeria. He will also touch on the effective use of curriculum and educational laboratories as well as discuss some long-term goals for space engineering education in the United States.
