Ohemaa Adjei Andoh is the founder of academy for kids called PM STEAM Academy, which focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics hands-on activities to help them embrace their creativity and to develop their interest in STEAM at an early age. She is also the founder of Girls in Science and Technology (GIST) and is a trained Transformational Life Coach who assists people in becoming the greatest versions of themselves in their personal life, professions, and other endeavors
Ohemaa Andoh in her teenage years hoped to pursue a different course in secondary school, but her science teacher recommended to her mother that she pursue science because he believed it would be beneficial to her. Her mother accompanied her on a school tour at KNUST and there, they had various conversations with various instructors before they settled on Geological Engineering and that is how how she settle to study General Science in senior High school. Adjei Andoh went ahead and graduated from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi, Ghana, with a Bachelor of Science in Geological Engineering.
Ohemaa Adjei Andoh started her career as a cementing and simulation Engineer with Schlumberger in Nigeria and Ghana and supported projects in Senegal, Ivory coast, Mauritania and Angola. She spent 6 years in the oil and Gas industry.
GIST founded by Ohemaa Andoh provides science mentorship to senior high school and tertiary students, and we hope to add subsidies for bright but needy ladies who want to pursue STEM-related courses. GIST has gathered a group of dedicated and industrious women from various STEM professions with the common objective of acting as role models for the next generation.
In 2020, Ohemaa Andoh won the Outstanding Woman Social Community Issued by Ghana Outstanding Women Awards (GOWA)
When asked what her greatest has been, she responds, “I will say my greatest achievement has been the ability to tailor my passion to help the younger generation through STEM. That is through GIST and PM STEAM Academy.” .
