Lucy Quist is a Ghanaian-British Business and technology executive. She is the former CEO of Airtel Ghana and is credited as being the first Ghanaian woman to lead an international telecoms firm. She is currently the Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer at Morgan Stanley, a multinational investment firm based in the United States.

Lucy began her career in engineering at Ford Motor Company and went on to hold business leadership positions in telecommunications at Millicom, Vodafone, and Airtel. She was also the Head of Strategy & Planning at Vodafone Ghana. her position at Vodafone required her to also be in charge of the wholesale and enterprise divisions of the corporation. Lucy is known for being the first Ghanaian woman to head a multinational telecommunications company as the former CEO of Airtel Ghana. As the CEO of Airtel, through her company’s corporate social responsibility project, she lobbied for increased young STEM involvement in Ghana.

Post her secondary education in Ghana, Lucy Quist studied at the University of East London, graduating with a first-class honours degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. She holds an MBA from INSEAD in France as well.

Quist has served on several boards in Ghana including those of Obaatan Pa Women’s Hospital, Business Sounding Board for the Danish Embassy in Accra, Industry Advisory Board for Ashesi University as well as The Exploratory – An initiative of the African Women Advocacy Project.

Lucy has a long list of awards to her name including the receiving the Corporate Leadership Award, Ghana Legacy Honours (2017), being one of the Top 50 Women Corporate Leaders in Ghana (WomanRising) and CSR CEO of the Year, Ghana CSR Excellence Awards in 2015. She was named one of the top business women making revolutionary change in Africa by the BBC’s Power Women series in 2016.

She’s a well-known international speaker. She has spoken at TEDxEUSTON, the GSMA’s Mobile World Congress, INSEAD, Columbia Business School, and McGill University, among other venues. Lucy is dedicated to assisting young people in realizing their full potential. She enjoys traveling with her family and reading books that examine many points of view on life.
