Workshop on Introduction to Diagnostic Clinical Research – July 29 – 31, 2019
The University of Ghana School of Biomedical and Allied Health Sciences, under the auspices of EDCTP and WHO/TDR, is organizing an interactive training workshop on Introduction to Diagnostic Clinical Research, from July 29 – 31, 2019.
Clinical research in diagnostics is a fast-growing area of healthcare science where the safety and effectiveness of medical devices/diagnostic equipment are determined. Participants of this workshop will have a solid foundation in Clinical Research Operations and also be introduced to the Global Health Network Professional Development Scheme (PDS).
This workshop and aims to:
· Build capacity of researchers and research departments in diagnostic clinical research operations
· Introduce and strengthen skills of participants on the Global Health Network Professional Development Scheme (PDS)
The 3-day training workshop will cover the basics of diagnostic clinical research such as Stages of diagnostic development, Key elements of stage I to IV trials, Human subject research protection, Risk-based monitoring, Electronic Data Capture/eSource, and the Diagnostics regulatory process in Ghana.
Midindi Hotel, Cantonments, Accra. 9am-4pm daily
This workshop targets individuals with no experience in diagnostic clinical research, as well as those who have some experience but want to improve their foundational knowledge. Individuals such as medical laboratory scientists, biomedical scientists, clinicians, clinical research associates, clinical trial co-ordinators, nurses, researchers, and post-graduate students can apply. Female applicants are encouraged to apply.
Application procedure and deadline
Participation in the course is free. Certificates will be presented for full participation in the entire 3-day workshop.
