The Department of Food Science and Technology, College of Science-KNUST, in collaboration with the Department of Geography and Rural Development, College of Humanities and Social Sciences-KNUST, are organizing a mega event dubbed KNUST FOOD FESTIVAL AND CONFERENCE on Wednesday 14th February, 2018.
Part I: 8:30 – 12:00: Presentations and Public Forum at the Great Hall-KNUST
Part II: 12:00 – 18:00: Food Festival and Exhibitions at the Quadrangle-KNUST
Theme: Combating food fraud and promoting traditional foods
The Conference is aimed to sensitize both industry players and consumers about food fraud, discuss among stakeholders the best and pragmatic steps to effectively eradicate food fraud among others. The Festival is aimed at celebrating our country’s diverse Food Heritage/Culture, African, Foreign and New Food Products developed. It will also serve as platform to educate the public on the basic sciences behind food preparation and food safety as well as nutrition and health benefits.
This event will showcase our food culture. All kinds of foods and beverages will be made available for tasting and purchase.
All Stakeholders including Students and Scientists/Researchers from various Universities/Institutions, Industry Players, Food Businesses, Government, Media and the General Public are cordially invited to participate.
Interested Companies/Organizations and registered Food Businesses are invited to exhibit their products. The registration fee for exhibition is GHS 300.
The Poster Size should be A0 Portrait. Participants wishing to present posters should register for allocation.
