Impact Hub Accra is launching the second annual class of the Health Innovation Summer Associate Program, an elite professional development program harnessing the energy, drive, and determination of emerging public health leaders to help create a vibrant, pan-African health innovation ecosystem.
Summer Associates receive two months of on-the-ground research experience in Ghana’s only dedicated health innovation program. Each Associate is paired with a key industry partner to conduct ecosystem mapping and key stakeholder meetings in a designated research area (examples include mHealth, urban or rural health delivery, community health, medical devices, pharmacy, health financing, etc.). Associates will be based out of the Impact Hub Accra co-working space and will have full access to the Impact Hub community and programming.
The Summer Associate Program is a cohort of 3-5 individuals (age 22-35), passionate about using the lens of innovation and entrepreneurship to improve health outcomes in West Africa. Summer Associates come from diverse professional backgrounds (medicine, public health, public policy, business, etc.) and live and work together throughout the summer, sharing housing in the Osu neighborhood of Accra.
Each Summer Associate is sponsored by an industry partner, who receives research determination and branding rights in exchange for financial support and mentorship guidance. Each Summer Associate will address a direct research need of an industry partner and complete a report for the partner at the conclusion of the summer, creating a clear return on investment for the industry partner involved.
