The University of Ghana has three Agricultural Research Centres (ARCs), namely:
- The Forest and Horticultural Research Centre (FOHCREC) at Okumaning, near Kade in the Eastern Region of Ghana,
- The Livestock and Poultry Research Centre (LIPREC), near Nmai Dzorn, Accra
- The Soil and Irrigation Research Centre (SIREC) at Kpong also in the Eastern Region
Each with a large expanse of land attached.
The University has set aside adequate land types and plantations required for research, leaving substantial arable and suitable land available for commercial ventures.
The University is desirous of giving a practical meaning to its overall agricultural development objectives and intends partnering interested private investors (local and/or international) in setting up commercial ventures along the lines of “The Lots” indicated below to promote commercial agriculture and to earn income to finance its academic and development programs and through that enhance the overall agricultural sector development agenda of the Government of Ghana.
This Request for Expression of Interest (REOI) is outlined according to the concept of the various projects and divided into Lots and Sub-Lots. Interested investors may express interest in any Lot or Sub-Lot or any combination of Lots and/ or Sub-Lots
