On day 26 of our Black history month celebrations, we celebrate IT4Teens.
IT4Teens is an organisation launched in 2014 to provide free ICT training to children and young people. They partner with local schools to provide these services to their pupils through the IT4Teens club.
Aside the school set up, IT4Teens also reaches out to school drop outs to provide them with ICT skills through which they can potentially gain employment. They have also partnered with the YMCA to provide ICT training to their branches across the country. Some of the courses covered at the club sessions include coding, web design, graphic design and mobile Applications.
The club has organised various exciting, educative and interactive programs to engage with children such as the Children and Young people’s ICT festival. They also take coding to children on the streets through their ‘my first code’ roads-show program.
For making IT accessible to all young people, we celebrate IT4Teens as they earn their place in our history books.
