It’s day 25 of Black History Month and today we celebrate the Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST).
MEST has been on the technology scene in Ghana since 2008 and have since birthed a number of successful start-ups. The organisation provides training, investment and mentorship to young entrepreneurs looking to contribute to job and wealth creation in the country through technology.
Successful entrepreneurs who make it to the MEST program are offered a 12 month scholarship and an intensive training program to better equip them to build a successful technology business after which winning teams receive seed funding to get started.
Graduates of the program who receive seed funding move on to the incubator where they have access to further support and office space. At present, the incubator boasts of investment in over 20 companies and having backed over 55 co-founders.
For their contribution to grooming technology entrepreneurs and promoting start-ups, we celebrate MEST as they earn their place in our history book.
