The Department of Optometry of the College of Science has opened a new eye clinic. The opening of the eye clinic is to help in teaching, learning and research in the department especially in providing students with hands-on practical skills in their studies. Professor Kwasi Obiri-Danso hinted that the ultra-modern eye clinic has equipment such as slit lamps, phoropters and other modern equipment to meet the vision care needs of the University community. The clinic was constructed with internally generated funds.
Dr. Ben David Kumah, the Head of Department of Optometry revealed that the students have agreed to pay a token fee towards eye care at the clinic. He said the clinic is open to staff and students currently at a fee and he hoped that their operations would be extended to patients outside the University campus. The clinic opens on Mondays to Fridays from 8am to 4pm.
