Black History Month Day 3: Ghana Planetarium

On day 3 of black history month, we celebrate the Ghana Planetarium.

Ghana Planetarium

Located on the street behind Christ the King church and school, is a dome shaped structure neatly placed on the lawn adjacent the quality distance learning school. The dome is home to Ghana’s first and only Planetarium which welcomed its first children in 2008.

With a focus on astronomy, the planetarium runs several shows, lessons and activities mostly for school kids but also takes bookings for birthday parties, company away days and remains open to the public as well.

A typical session in the dome, takes you on a fascinating journey through space to discover more about our night sky and its inhabitants including The Solar System, Planets and their Moons the Milky Way galaxy and more.

With the planetarium making space science tangible to today’s kids who have had the opportunity to visit the dome, we hope one would come away with the zeal to study the night sky.

Are you familiar with the Ghana Planetarium and How much do you really know about space science? Why not book a visit with some friends and family to explore the wonders of the universe from the planetarium.
